NOTICE is hereby given of a Planning Committee Meeting which you are summoned to attend.


This Meeting is for the purpose of considering and finalising the Committee’s recommendations on the Planning Applications listed below, which will include carrying out any site meetings deemed necessary.

    It was RESOLVED to note b) PA25/09056 Proposal Works to trees in a Conservation Area which was decided upon under delegated authority.

    Decision

    It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 19 December 2025 be accepted as a true and accurate record.

  7. P.2026.007

    Action 1179 Update: The Tree Officer confirmed that this tree is not protected by the Tree Preservation Order due to its age. Therefore, the application has been withdrawn, and the applicant can carry out the work.

    Decision

    It was RESOLVED that the Town Clerk progresses Action 1201 by liaising with the Mayor around highlighting a strong objection (any further development unless Cornwall Council commits to a comprehensive study on delivering a relief road around Bodmin to alleviate town centre congestion) to the local MP - Ben Maguire. Action 1179 to be completed in light of the response received from Planning, Cornwall Council.

    Comment Date: Fri 02 Jan 2026
    Bodmin Town Council does not support the application of this extension in its current form due to concerns regarding massing and its incompatibility with the existing street scene. The proposal does not respect the established building line, as the extension projects forward beyond it, creating a visual imbalance within the surrounding context.

    It was RESOLVED to note the outcome of 5-Day Protocol upon PA25/09109.

    The application was supported.

    Decision

    It was RESOLVED to note the outcome of 5-Day Protocol upon PA25/09268. Cllr J Cooper voted against this resolution.

    Decision

    It was RESOLVED upon street name suggestions for Persimmon Homes as follows: Carew Road, Union Hill, Pydar Close, Dosmerry Road, Brodhek Road, Colquite Road, Tremere Drive, Tregarden Road, Trewallock Road, Kirland View, Ertach (Cornish for heritage), Hillfort, Kynock ( a British alternative name for Canyke), Cunock (another alternative), Kernock (yet another alternative), Rampart, Tumulus, Kelliwic (King Arthurs Court, could have been at Castle Canyke), Toll Road (near the tollhouse), Carminow Crescent/Place.
